When a correction is issued

A correction is issued when reliable new information materially contradicts a specific claim in a published article — a wrong figure, an incorrect name, an inaccurate description of what was announced. Minor clarifications that do not change the substance of a story may be made silently.

A correction is not issued simply because a new development has superseded an earlier one. If a company raises a second round after we reported their first, the original article remains accurate — the new development is covered in a separate article.

How corrections work

• The original publication timestamp is preserved. We do not backdate corrections.
• The correction is disclosed inline in the article, clearly labelled, describing what was wrong and what the correct information is.
• The source supporting the correction is recorded internally and, where appropriate, cited in the correction notice.
• A log entry is created recording the original text, the corrected text, the correction source, and the date applied.
• The article's status is updated to reflect that a correction has been made.

Retractions

A retraction — full removal of a published article — is reserved for cases where the article's central premise is fundamentally incorrect and cannot be corrected by amendment. Retracted articles are removed from the site but the retraction is noted in our internal records.

Submitting a correction request

If you believe a published article contains a factual error, please contact us with:

• The URL of the article in question.
• The specific claim you believe to be incorrect.
• The correct information, with supporting evidence (source URL, official document, etc.).

We review all submissions and will acknowledge receipt. We assess each request on its merits against the evidence provided. Corrections are not issued on the basis of preference or commercial interest — only on the basis of verifiable factual accuracy.
